Well isn’t this an inverse of Montreal’s first round series. The Canadiens were up 3-0 against the Senators in round one, and are now in an 0-3 hole in a conference semi-final matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Bolts have outscored the Habs 10-4 in just three games thus far. Stamkos has FOUR points. Tyler Johnson has FOUR points. Ben Bishop is looking for FOUR WINS tonight.
With a 1.78 goals for per game during the regular season, the Canadiens have not been known for their offensive flare. If the team wants to see any success tonight, they need to help Carey Price out with more time in the offensive zone and hopefully more scoring.
Goal scoring definitely won’t be easy to come by. The Lightning are shutting the Canadiens down both defensively and with the goaltending courtesy of Ben Bishop. If the Habs want to turn around their current predicament, top players PK Subban and Max Pacioretty, deadline additions Torrey Mitchell and Devante Smith-Pelly, as well as the team as a whole needs to be the offensive catalysts of game four.
It’s time to change up the philosophy. Forget that you’re down three games. Play game four as game seven.
